Social Bubbles
Inspired by The Social Dilemma, a documentary exploring the hidden dangers behind our online interactions, this publication was created to investigate: “How does social media reshape our perception of the offline world?” To uncover this, the publication is divided into digital and physical parts, each carrying their specific functions. The digital publication acts as the informative section. Being the information carrier it gives a detailed overview of the discussed topics. On the other hand, the physical publication acts as the reflective section. The part where the reader can meditate upon the information read online and journal their personal experiences as they go. The act of journaling, itself, exists in direct contrast with our behaviour on social media. Online you are inexhaustibly and involuntarily being fed with new information. But journaling allows you to come back to your thoughts, and reflect upon your experiences. And because growth and change are always gradual the publication follows a calendar system, having each month unveil a part of the overall narrative. This allows the reader to immerse themselves into the urgency of the topic of social media and its consequences to discover that maybe breaking its agenda may not be so hard after all.
